Change Your Credit Habits

Credit and Debt Problems?  Get the Facts Here!

Most consumers over the past several years, much like the global economy, have suffered financial setbacks.  Whether these losses occurred in the financial market or in your professional life, now is the time to look to restart and get yourself back in the black.

So Where Did You Get Stuck?

Credit Card Debt: It’s easy to do when your income or expenses have changed dramatically in a short period of time.  Most of us do just this: open up the credit cards and charge away!  Well its time to sort out these bills and consider an option to liberate yourself from the growing debt these cards always envelop.  Look into Debt Consolidation in order to reboot your credit card debt today!
Debt Consolidation:  If you are worried about keeping up with your monthly credit card bills, take a debt or bill consolidation loan into consideration!  You can combine your outstanding debt into a single low monthly payment and say “Adios” to those stacks of monthly bills from Visa and MasterCar
Credit Help: When we fall into debt its very common that your credit score will take a tumble too.  Unfortunately a poor credit score and credit report can mean bad news today and down the line.  Why?  Well bad credit means the next time you get a loan you’re going to pay much more for it.  Don’t get killed with interest rates, learn how to improve your credit score today and start saving.
Identify Theft: Not just a movie.  If you have been one of the millions of victims of identity theft in the US each year, you have come to the right place.  Learn how you can recover from the financial pain of a stolen identity.

Improve your Credit Score

Once a consumer is made aware of their credit score, most want to figure out the best and quickest way improve their score.  There are surprisingly a lot of options one can undertake to point their credit score back in the right direction: up.  While there is no quick fix or solution to get your number magically changed overnight, there is something you can start doing today to improve your credit report.  Try this simple step as a first shot at cleaning up and repairing your credit report today:

Dispute

You can log on to Equifax or Transworld, or another similar credit reporting agency-really you should in fact check them all- and request your free credit score report.  Look for strange things you don’t remember, have no knowledge about, or in some cases is simply old.  Then dispute it. The credit reporting agencies have a dispute and resolution process between consumers and creditors.  If the creditor who is reporting a delinquency, late payment, etc. no longer exists or does not reply in time to the request by the reporting agency- guess what? Those disputed items will be removed.

Negotiate

In today’s modern global economy you might be surprised to realize major corporations and especially lenders like Bank of America are willing to negotiate credit problems.  It’s in their best interest to get a transaction settled then hand it over to collections for pennies on the dollar. So what to do?  Call up any creditor on your credit report who has an item against you and talk.  Offer a reduced payment to end the default.  If it’s simply some late payments use the angle that you are a valued customer in good credit standing now and would like to be “forgiven” those late payments and move on.  It never hurts to ask nicely when trying to repair your credit score- give it a try!

Change Your Credit Habits

This might sound vague but this might be some of the best credit score repair advice going.  Use your credit differently.  By implementing these simple changes, you can go a long way towards improving your current credit score:
Get a higher credit line!  If you credit limit is just $2,000 and you are 75% of that limit with $1,500 owed, it looks bad.  Increase your limit but not what you owe to show you are reasonable in your credit use.
Use a mix of your credit cards and have several.  It sounds counterintuitive but managing more credit responsibly shows the creditors you are a safe risk.
Pay your bills twice a month or even a month early!  Never risk a late payment and show your creditors you are very responsible- double paying some months and never just paying out the minimums.

January 27, 2015 The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC)

Statement on Longer-Run Goals and Monetary Policy Strategy Adopted effective January 24, 2012; as amended effective January 27, 2015 The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is firmly committed to fulfilling its statutory mandate from the Congress of promoting maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates. The Committee seeks to explain its monetary policy decisions to the public as clearly as possible. Such clarity facilitates well-informed decision making by households and businesses, reduces economic and financial uncertainty, increases the effectiveness of monetary policy, and enhances transparency and accountability, which are essential in a democratic society. Inflation, employment, and long-term interest rates fluctuate over time in response to economic and financial disturbances.

Moreover, monetary policy actions tend to influence economic activity and prices with a lag. Therefore, the Committee’s policy decisions reflect its longer-run goals, its medium-term outlook, and its assessments of the balance of risks, including risks to the financial system that could impede the attainment of the Committee’s goals. The inflation rate over the longer run is primarily determined by monetary policy, and hence the Committee has the ability to specify a longer-run goal for inflation. The Committee reaffirms its judgment that inflation at the rate of 2 percent, as measured by the annual change in the price index for personal consumption expenditures, is most consistent over the longer run with the Federal Reserve’s statutory mandate. Communicating this inflation goal clearly to the public helps keep longer-term inflation expectations firmly anchored, thereby fostering price stability and moderate long-term interest rates and enhancing the Committee’s ability to promote maximum employment in the face of significant economic disturbances.

The maximum level of employment is largely determined by non-monetary factors that affect the structure and dynamics of the labor market. These factors may change over time and may not be directly measurable. Consequently, it would not be appropriate to specify a fixed goal for employment; rather, the Committee’s policy decisions must be informed by assessments of the maximum level of employment, recognizing that such assessments are necessarily uncertain and subject to revision. The Committee considers a wide range of indicators in making these assessments. Information about Committee participants’ estimates of the longer-run normal rates of output growth and unemployment is published four times per year in the FOMC’s Summary of Economic Projections. For example, in the most recent projections, FOMC participants’ estimates of the longer-run normal rate of unemployment had a central tendency of 5.2 percent to 5.5 percent. In setting monetary policy, the Committee seeks to mitigate deviations of inflation from its longer-run goal and deviations of employment from the Committee’s assessments of its maximum level.

These objectives are generally complementary. However, under circumstances in which the Committee judges that the objectives are not complementary, it follows a balanced approach in promoting them, taking into account the magnitude of the deviations and the potentially different time horizons over which employment and inflation are projected to return to levels judged consistent with its mandate. The Committee intends to reaffirm these principles and to make adjustments as appropriate at its annual organizational meeting each January.

How to Double Your Available Credit in Less Than Two Years

Increasing one’s available credit can be a tedious process that, for most people, takes years. With the right strategy, however, it can happen in a fraction of the time. I learned early on that credit card companies love people who max out their credit cards. They love them because of the income stream they get as a result. However, if you max out your credit, the companies may also view this as a sign of desperation and assume that you are a risk. It is a catch-22: If you are barely using your credit, the credit card companies do not have much reason to increase your limit; on the other hand, using your
credit too much will make them feel you are a risk.
Consequently, to make the credit card companies happy, you have to do two things. First, make them feel you are not a risk. Second, let them know that by increasing your credit, they can make more money from you without increasing their risk.
The best way to put your credit limit increase project into turbo mode is to start with at least two credit cards and max out card #1. I am not saying that you should go spend; rather, do a balance transfer to another credit card (or put the money into your checking account, for that matter) and wait for the bill to come in the mail. When the bill arrives, do another balance transfer from a different card to pay off card #1. The good news is that the banks are usually not aware that you are paying off one credit card with another. They just assume you did a wire transfer from a checking account of some sort, as most
credit card companies are also full-service financial institutions that offer checking accounts.
If you have four or more credit cards, you would want to do this simultaneously with two cards. The more cards you have, the more you want to have maxing out and paying off. When banks see you doing this in a short time frame, they start to trust you and assume that you can handle a higher limit. The fact that you pay off the maxed balance quickly relieves the banks’ fear that you can’t pay them back and also increases their revenue if you don’t default. If you don’t max out, banks have no reason to believe that you will ever charge beyond your limit, which in turn makes it less likely that you will build credit
quickly. This doesn’t mean your limits won’t increase over time if you don’t max the cards out, it just means it will take you much longer to get there. This concept is similar to many real-life situations. Take a puppy, for example. If you leave your puppy alone for three hours and he doesn’t mess up the house, the next time you might feel comfortable leaving him for four hours, and so on. Banks are no
different—the only exception is that you have to push the bank out of the house for three hours to show them you can be trusted, and you do this by maxing out your credit card and paying it off. Repeat this process a few times and your three hours will increase to eight in little time.
You also want to call your credit card companies every six months and ask if you qualify for a credit limit increase. Tell them you would rather they not pull your credit since the inquiry will hurt your score, and ask if they will do it based on your good credit history alone. Sometimes they say yes, sometimes they say no. At that point you have to make a choice as to whether or not it is worth the negative effect of the bank pulling your credit. I would suggest answering yes to that question no more than once every six months, because if other banks see a bunch of inquiries on your report, they will assume you are desperate and seeking too much credit and will instantly say no to your request.
The banks also will ask how much of an increase you want. First, ask them if you can just request the maximum they will give you. If they say no and require you to specify an amount, ask what will happen if you request too much. Will they counter your request with a lower amount or just flat deny you altogether? If they will counter, I suggest being aggressive and asking for 50% more than your current credit limit (e.g., from $5,000 to $7,500). If they will not counter, I suggest asking only for 20% more than you currently have, just to be safe.
The only downside to the method described in this article is that you will have to pay balance transfer fees, but getting higher credit limits in half the time may be worth the added cost to you.

Your credit troubles can stop today!

Do you have bad credit? If so, then you know how absolutely soul destroying it can be. It can take a formerly happy person and suck every single ounce of joy from their lives. It can affect your sleeping patterns, your health and of course your financial independence.
It’s such a humiliating thing, to be refused something on the grounds of bad credit. Companies have a habit of making you feel two feet tall for simply having credit not matching their standards, when it’s entirely like your bad credit arose from something that wasn’t even your fault!

  • Embarrassed any time the subject of credit rating comes up?Copy of 1000px_MUCOVER_deepthawght_id_f
  • Denied the ability to get a new credit card or loan?
  • Penalised every time you even so much as think about purchasing something?
  • Forced to rationalise and justify every purchase you make?
  • Dreaming of a new wardrobe, car or house?
  • Fed up of being victimised and humiliated?
  • Fed up of patronising offers of ‘bad credit’ loans?
  • Fed up of dealing with collection agencies and demanding phone calls, terrorising you on a daily basis?

It’s totally understandable, and it’s totally natural to feel that way. You’re being unfairly victimised by a system that doesn’t care, and naturally you want to stop it. You want to take back control. You want to live the life you know you deserve. You want to be able to treat your family. To stop having to think five times about every single purchase, and having to make a choice about which of your bills are going to be paid this month and which aren’t.
The system, sadly, doesn’t care about any of us. And the sooner we accept that, the sooner we can take agency and actually start to control our own lives. You aren’t the pawn or plaything of some credit company, so stop letting them run your life for you and talk down to you.
The deck is rigged. These companies have spent a great deal of time and effort in making sure that the whole system works for them and works for them alone. Do you expect fairness? Or do you expect decent treatment? Do you expect care and understanding? Then think again.
These companies don’t see you as a person, with feelings and troubles. They see you as a number. They see you as a profit margin. They see you, and everyone they deal with, as a way for them to make as much money as possible, and for them to increase their power.
You’re a human being, and you deserve to be treated with decency. It can feel hopeless, that it’s just ‘’me against the system’’ and that you can’t win. It’s very easy to feel that, but wait!

Your credit troubles can stop today!

We’ve already established that these credit companies are nothing just unhinged money grabbers, desperate for more control over people who have no choice. Or so they think. They base their whole system of business, on wearing you down. They use their words very carefully, to make you feel as worthless as possible, so they can treat you however they please.
They know, that if you start thinking about the reality of the situation, and you have the right coaching, then you can remove their shackles and start living the way you want to. The way you deserve to.
And that’s really as simple as it is; it’s just the way you look at it. It’s your state of mind. Once you’ve found the right state of mind, you can achieve anything!

Supreme Court ruling enables same-sex couples to be legally married, there is still no federal law that specifically protects LGBT Americans from being discriminated against if they seek home ownership

Mission Statement

"Provide education for mortgage professionals and consumers through a variety of educational choices that satisfy national and state needs.

While today’s Supreme Court ruling enables same-sex couples to be legally married, there is still no federal law that specifically protects LGBT Americans from being discriminated against if they seek home ownership.
Originally passed in 1968 and expanded several times over the years, the Fair Housing Act prohibits housing discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disability or family status. The Obama Administration never publicly advocated for congressional expansion of the Fair Housing Act to encompass LGBT Americans, nor did Congress expand the law as part of the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010 (which was co-authored by the openly gay Rep. Barney Frank).
In December 2010, three weeks before the end of the 112th Congress (the last time Democrats controlled both the House and Senate), the Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) Act was introduced by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) as a means to expand the Fair Housing Act to cover discrimination based on sexual orientation. It was too late in the congressional session for the bill to have any traction, and Rep. Nadler reintroduced in June 2013 in the 113th Congress, where it was fatally stalled. The Los Angeles Times reports that new legislation to provide comprehensive federal protections for gays and lesbians nationwide, including in housing, is expected to be introduced this summer by Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) in the House and Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) in the Senate.
In 2012, the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) issued a regulation that prohibited LGBT discrimination in federally-assisted housing programs under the department’s umbrella. A year later, HUD issued a report on discrimination against LGBT Americans seeking rental properties; to date, the department has not issued any data on homeownership-related discrimination for this demographic. HUD has also stated on its website that LGBT Americans with HIV/AIDS would qualify for protection under the Fair Housing Act under discrimination based on disability.
According to the Human Rights Campaign, a non-profit that advocates for LGBT rights, 18 states and the District of Columbia have local laws that prohibit housing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, while another three states have laws focused on sexual orientation discrimination only. More than 200 municipalities have their own laws preventing this type of discrimination.
After another landmark Supreme Court decision this week on disparate claims in housing discrimination, the Human Rights Campaign announced that housing would be a main focus in its efforts to ensure LGBT rights and to expand the Fair Housing Act.
“LGBT people, especially those in communities of color, rely on the Fair Housing Act to address inequality,” said Stephen Peters, national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign. “Although the Fair Housing Act does not specifically protect from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, many LGBT people who experience discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity may still be covered by the sex or disability provisions of the Fair Housing Act.”
